Give your kids the ultimate comfort with the Mizuno Contender children's trainers, sneakers that combine style and performance.
The Contender is an archive silhouette that was originally launched in 1995, with design ideas from the founder of Mizuno, Rhiachi Mizuno. It was a lightweight model characterized by stability and support, created for entry-level runners looking for a well-cushioned shoe suitable for road or off-road running. For the upper, the original Contender combined mesh with suede reinforcements for a durable construction while maintaining maximum comfort. The midsole is made of a single density EVA foam, compression molded with Mizuno's Transpower technology at the heel, a very responsive foam insert that absorbs shock and adds cushioning. For the outsole, a new monoblock rubber was used with flex grooves at the forefoot for a smoother transition from heel to toe. The classic 90s look and the balanced way in which the matte mesh and suede are alternated create a unique blend between a casual feel and the sporty origins of this silhouette. In AW23, the Contender S evolves into a new combo of materials, mixing suede and synthetic suede, with a white base and contrasting colour eyelets.
